Simply put, RSLogix 5000 is a state-of-the-art software that has been designed to for discrete operation, safety, motion, process, drive-based and batch like applications. Read on as we dive further into RSLogix 5000!
Some of the main features of this particular software is that it comes with a common control engine which has been designed on the base of developing the environment for either full or partial automation. The software also allows easy user interface for start-up projects as well as lucrative commissioning effects all with the use of the Intuitive IEC61131-3 compliant. And it also features structured text, ladder logic, a fully functioning block diagram and of course a series of sequential functioning editors.
Additionally, there are also troubleshooting as well as diagnostic tools. And there is also room for implementing and design of the IEC 61131 for the purpose of structured text algorithm control; this can be accomplished with the use of the Simulink PLC Coder which is readily available. The RSLogix 5000 has been designed based on the ideas of Rockwell Automation Integrated Architecture.
As we’ve said before, the program creates a platform where users can program in a common environment with the perfect set of configurations that are based on safety. And there is even a wide range of I/O modules, redundancy and communication modules available. Additionally, the software supports a controlled solution that can be done from the user’s personal computer.
Due to the state-of-the-art structure, RSLogix 5000 aids customers with effectively optimizing a series of plant-based operations within a number of different industries. And it also has a specially designed feature that allows for the access of real time info. This goes on to readily maximize on performance, project development and even maintenance for much more productive sessions. Additionally, the built-in graphical wizard allows the automatic creation of tags.
However, due to its improved reduction in marketing time, users can create code and share simultaneously all while comparing and merging any drastic or small changes. And since everything is license-based, it further adds to the protection capabilities. As such, only authorized persons can execute, modify or even view any work that has already been done. We’ve mentioned that tags are created automatically, this is simply for the purpose of reducing the programming element for some users and allows some action with that of a simply right click.
Rockwell also improved the software’s kinematic support and expanded the safety instructions library. With all of that said, your machine must still meet a specific set of requirements in order to be able to run the software. Your machines processor must be at least 2.8GHz Intel Core i5 or greater and the RAM must be 8GB and above for smoother running.
When it comes to the operating system, the following systems are recommended:
*The 64-bit version of Windows 10 Pro
*The 64-bit version of Windows 7 Pro with the inclusion of a Service Pack 1
*The 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 Pro along with the 2014 April update
*Windows Server 2016
*Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition
*Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition with Service Pack 1
Additionally, your system will need to have a minimum of 20GB free space and more. Your graphics setting will need to at least be higher than DirectX 9 with the addition of WDDM 1 or greater. However, be sure to keep in mind that there are several features that will not be compatible with the use of touch-enabled devices like those that run on Windows 8.1.
As we conclude, we have just looked at what exactly is RSLogix 5000. We have also gone into key details about the important features that come with the software. And we’ve also given a list of specs that are required to successfully run the software without any issues!
